Summer Conference!!

Alright. Summer Conference! What a beautiful, amazing,  adventure-filled, week. It was crazy. Full of love and laughter, early mornings, late nights (I think 11 is late??) coffee, walks, classes, Chinese food, and bonding with kids from my area. A solid month of being gone, and it all came down to the best four days of the month. During summer conference, We got to the OSU campus in Corvallis, and take some fun filled classes, bonding with kids kids from all over the state, and building leadership skills, as well as getting to find out what its really like to live in a dorm. We have two county meetings a day, one that is run by a state rep for Oregon 4H, and the other is run by the chaperones that come on the trip. Henry was our rep for this year. He was really fun. At the meetings, we got to know kids from counties that were close to us, reflect on the day, and eat pizza (even after we had dinner!).

The classes I took this year were mostly focused on physiology and leadership. Our guest speaker, John Beede, taught a class in 7 characteristics of charismatic teens. We had to memorize them, then interact with people using all 7, and seeing how others reacted with us. I really loved the class. It was light-hearted and fun, as well as educational. I took another class called "Make Up Your Mind" that I also enjoyed a lot. It was about the difference between a fixed and a growth mindset. We did workshops on different things, almost like an IQ test. Some of the kids were good at some things, others were good at other things. The whole purpose of the activities was to see whether you got to the challenge and said "I'm not good at math, I cant do this" or if you though "Okay. Lets read the problem and try to figure this out", and that, folks, is how I found out that I am not totally horrible at math.

AHHHH BUT THE PEOPLE WERE SO FABULOUS. OK? Wowwww.  I met this girl named Kate, and she is like, so great. OMG. We hung out a lot, we got Dutch Bros together, and also in the quad a lot. Same with Lucy, Daytona, Ashlie, Marle, Donovan,  Haylee, Mercedes, Charlie, Tanner, Cinch, and soooo many more people. It was really fun. Everywhere I went, people knew my name. A bunch of us had a random dance party on the quad, with no music. A bunch of others were singing, honestly, we just had a blast. There was not a second we weren't all laughing, smiling, drinking dutch bros (BTW, a kid from our county named Carson can make AMAZING coffee, its called a chocolate brew. Its amazing). There was a dance, and it was amazing. Like, lit with like, two T's. The food was also amazing. I ate with a lot of different people. I had a lot of rice noodles and veggies because I cant have gluten, and it was really amazing. We all had way too much bacon in the mornings, and lit burritos for most other meals? I laughed so much. Thats what I remember most of. I had my first Swedish Fish, learned how to play pool a little bit I guess, and made a lot of friends that I think are gonna last a long time.

Saturday Morning Brunch!!!! We were all killing it ;) #slay

We recreated last years photo #transformation_Saturday

Charlie kindly got a photo of me jumping, because i begged for one ðŸ˜‚

Again, killing the game on a beautiful Saturday morning

can we get out of these clothes?
Okay! Now its time for some photos of the fun run/walk. We actually got lost and wound up going like a million more miles than we should have. However, it was still AH-MAZING. It was really cool to see kids dressed up. We were supposed to have music stations and stuff, but because we got lost, we actually didn't. However, thank you Donovan, because he brought his phone and we sang Britney Spears and Spice Girls and tons of throw backs. We walked down the street fan-girling over the throw backs, discussing nail colors, and sipping coffee while we strolled in the million degree heat. Lucky for me, I bumped into my mother, who happily took some great photos of me :) (wink wink momma <3)

So much is happening here I don't even know how to caption it right
feat. (starting left) Shocked girls, Winner of the race, Jacob, and Grant.

I really enjoyed the whole week, and I hope that if you guys ever get the opportunity to travel with clubs you are in, you take full advantage. 4-H has helped me grow as a person, given me so many opportunities, and broadened my horizons. I seriously had so much fun. It took a lot of courage to sign up my first year, because I was scared of people, scared of possible being without my mom (she chaperones, so I'm all good). Next year, I plan on going to Washington DC, and taking so many other adventures. My summer is only a third done, but most of my traveling is over. I hope to see the friends I made this week,  through out the year as a do different camps and retreats. I seriously encourage you guys to take that 15 seconds of courage and just take the trip. It could change your life.

Aesthetic purposes, only.

I think we all have those days when its like, "OMG this hair looks so cute" or maybe its "LOL this highlight looks so great" So we proceed to take a million photos and infiltrate the internet with them. Shockingly, I do the same thing! Can you believe it?

I really love playing with my hair. I sometimes forget that its ok to do something with my hair, it doesn't always have to be down, and it doesn't always have to be up, and even though braids are kinda normal for me, they are still cute enough to wear when we go places. Is it weird that I don't care what I look like walking into Safeway, where I know everybody, and will most likely see them the next day, but then when I leave the county, I try to look my best for a bunch of people I will never see again?

Honestly, I never really thought about it till just now when I wrote it. ANNNYYYYYWAYYYZ. (lots of pep, obviously) I think everybody should have days where they just feel cute as heck, and they wanna show the world. I don't always wing my liner (or even wear eyeliner tbh) but when I do, I deff snapchat selfies of it to my sister. Get that good lighting, perfect angle, chin tilted just so. I mean, selfies are an ART. So yes, this blog is going to just be selfies of when I felt cute. I'm not the most confident pencil in the drawer (or however that goes), but sometimes, you just have to take the selfie. So go ahead! SPAM THE INTERNET WITH YOUR GLORIOUS FACE. Its Gods creation. Don't be vain (its a fine line. I'm worried I'll cross it sometimes, but I don't think I really will because I'm not like "omg I'm so great. worship me". Get me?) but confidence is important. I know that sometimes I feel like I'm not pretty enough to have the right to feel good about myself, but that voice is not the one that controls me. I'm slowly learning how to over come it. Its defiantly a challenge, but I want you to join! Together, this summer, lets take thoes voices down a notch. #gurlpower or even #dudepower lollll omg! Okay I'll calm down now.

I'm currently at Summer Conference, but I'll be home soon (I think? I don't really know the days) and I will probably have tons of selfies, with all of my beautiful, new and old, friends. PLUS PICTURES FROM A FUN RUN THAT I JUST FOUND OUT I GET TO DRESS UP FOR. Not like I'm excited for that or anything......

SELFIE TIME, YO.

Wow... Thats a lot more than I thought...

The Start

Stock Show - Like fair, but 2 hours away from my house, tons more people, there is a carnival, and its the first week of June.

Needless to say, I had a blast. I had a pig, his name was Dill, and he was a good pig. Together, Dill and I got second place in conformation, and had a pretty good week.

But thats all boring.

Alright. So I didn't get the millions of photos I wanted to get, but I forgot my camera and had to use one of my friends phones. As you can seen though, the Union sky is amazing. We had one day of nice warm weather, and the rest, it was cold and rainy. Did that stop us from going to The Stop Light to get Elephant Ear ice cream? HECK NO! My friend, Hannah, and I walked like, everywhere. We walked to the parade, and we walked around the small town. It was really beautiful. I'm sorry that I didn't get pictures of the buildings and houses, because they were amazing. I met a ton of new people. Cinch, Ty, Monte, Austin, and a bunch more! I also got to see old friends like Carson and Sam and Dylan. We walked around the fair and talked. It was uber neat to be able to catch up with them.

We also met some really cool people with amazing stories. (or just made some with really cool people)
My friend Hannah were walking around (for aesthetic photos I could use on my blog) when we met a guy named Jon. He had been traveling the whole world since a young age. He knew 15 languages and was working on the 16th, Russian! The languages he did know included Italian, German, Mandren, French, British English (aka proper English) and a ton more that I don't remember.
Hannah is also to thank for my new blog. She was defending me against a kid (who later decided we were cool, and hung out with us) and said "your just jealous because your not on the Georgia Side of things" and then all of a sudden, we spent a lot of time creating a blog about the Georgia side of things, and thats when she finally found out that I actually did have a blog. Thank you Hannah, Love you <3
We also met these two really cute old ladies. Every night, they would sit in their truck bed by the entrance for the trailer park that everyone stayed in for the week, and they would just watch. Well it also just so happened that Hannah's brother and his group of friends had the same number as our little group. Four each. Ty, one of the people I met, had a crush on one of the girls, so the old ladies took it upon themselves to help match them up. By the end of the week, the two were together, and the old ladies were beaming. It was a really fun and awesome story, but I just don't have time to write it down. We also learned how to rope, (thank you Ty, Malachi, and Cinch), pretended to be little kids at a parade where we each made away with a bag of candy (and I got a hat! Thank you, random dude who threw me that hat!), and tons of really fun memories and laughs.
By the end of the week, Jacob and I had barley seen each other. We were exhausted, but both of us had such a blast. It was a really good way to start out our summer, even if the temperature didn't get above 60 the whole week!

The art of a selfie, mastered.

I'm really excited to share more of my summer with all of you guys, including VBS this week, and OSU summer conference. Camps, and retreats. Maybe some fun around the lake? Who knows!

AHH! SUMMER

Hey guys, hey! So, my summer has totally started, which means I'm gonna be traveling A LOT. Like, a lot. So I've decided that I'm gonna turn my blog into a bit of a travel blog, but my posts will be insanely irregular.  I might post 5 things in one week, and then be silent for the next four. I've also decided to post a lot of pictures, which is not something I normally do.

I probably wont infuse each post with my witty incite, and teenage brilliance. Lots of song references, text slang (the chart below explains some of it), and a TON of pep and selfies. I'm a teenager, guys ðŸ˜‚😂😂

TEXT SLANG - DEFINED
L0L - laugh out loud
FR - For Real
OMG - oh my goodness
NFW - No Freaking Way
GURL - girl, except in a totally excited way
SMH - Shake my head (like, omg, so ashamed lol)
BRUH - same thing as dude. and over excited version of 'guess what'.
LIKE - not really an emotion or action. more to just add importance, of course, in an overly peppy way.
CHILL - means cool, but like in a gangster way
DOE- same thing as 'though' but wayyyyyy peppy
TRU - same thing as 'true', also overly peppy.
THO - yes! you guessed it. Same as 'though', but loaded with pep.

Basically, 100% straight up, rock solid pep. Thats me

Your welcome
